Starting this semester, Missouri S&T has partnered with Knack, a platform designed to connect S&T students with peer tutors for every undergraduate course taught each semester. The Student Success Center’s Academic Mentoring program focuses on STEM-based courses. However, Knack offers free tutoring for all courses, if a student who successfully passed the course has signed up to tutor.

Tutors are S&T students who have passed the course with at least a B. Tutors must complete training before beginning tutoring sessions and are paid $15 an hour. They also can set their own schedule, and choose when they tutor.

“Knack has an excellent track record of assisting universities in improving retention rates through its tutoring services, and we are excited to partner with them to achieve the same success on our campus,” said Dr. Daniel C. Reardon, vice provost of undergraduate education. “The user-friendly app empowers students to conveniently request a tutor, and the availability of round-the-clock tutoring ensures that no student is left without the support they need, regardless of their schedule or location.”
