Buchely wins Kent D. Peaslee Junior Faculty Award

Dr. Mario Buchely, the Roberta and G. Robert Couch Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, was recently awarded the Kent D. Peaslee Junior Faculty Award from the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) Foundation.
The award was established in 2013 in honor and memory of Dr. Kent D. Peaslee, a former Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of metallurgical engineering and Missouri S&T alumnus.
Buchely will receive $50,000 per year to conduct outreach activities related to the iron and steel industry, with the goal of increasing the number of students in this field. The grant can be renewed for up to three years.
