Chancellor Mo Dehghani appointed Tory Verkamp as vice chancellor of university advancement, effective Sunday, Oct. 1.

“We conducted a thorough national search for this position, and through the process discovered that the best candidate for this important role has been with us for nearly a decade,” Dehghani says.

Verkamp joined Missouri S&T in 2014 as a senior development officer and was promoted to executive director of development in 2015 and assistant vice chancellor of University Advancement in 2017. In February 2022, she was named interim vice chancellor.

Before joining the university, Verkamp led fundraising efforts at Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation in Indianapolis. She holds a master’s degree in public affairs and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and Spanish, all from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a certified fundraising executive.
