Updates for the S&T community
S&T is home to various groups that focus on student health and well-being. These include the STEP UP! Committee, the Prevention Coalition, and the Health and Well-Being Committee, which have been accepted into the Missouri Suicide Prevention Coalition Academy. The academy is the first of its kind in the nation designed to help community prevention coalitions implement sustainable, evidence-based efforts.
On Thursday, Aug. 3, and Friday, Aug. 4, Jessica Gargus, Lynne Davidson, Annie Birt, and Stephanie Murray-Miller from student well-being, and Barb Prewett from student support and community standards, attended an in-person event to start the academy and will participate in monthly follow-up trainings over the next year.
