Emmanuel Olugbade, a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering, wins Best EMC Student Paper.

Emmanuel Olugbade, a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering, stood out in the 2023 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal and Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI), held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His research paper, titled “Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Oxidation Layer Formation on Aluminum Substrates with Surface Defects,” progressed from initial evaluation to finalist and won Best EMC Student Paper.

The innovative, interdisciplinary methodology used in Olugbade’s research yielded insights into the intricate exploration of the root causes of electrical non-linearities. These contribute to the manifestation of passive intermodulation in radiofrequency devices.
