The S&T community is invited to commemorate the three-year anniversary of the $300 million gift Fred and June Kummer made to Missouri S&T. Kummer Day begins with research presentations by Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9, in the Carver-Turner and Missouri-Ozark rooms of the Havener Center.
Faculty and staff are invited to attend a lunch celebration noon-1:30 p.m. in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. Chancellor Mo Dehghani will reflect on the accomplishments of the past year, highlight the goals and aspirations for the year ahead, and recognize faculty and staff dedication to student success, and deliver a personal tribute to the late Fred Kummer, who died April 30, 2021, in St. Louis at age 92. During the luncheon, keynote presentations will be made by Angela Rayle, a Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellow and a doctoral student in physics, and Joseph Nguyen, a Kummer Vanguard Scholar who is a junior in mechanical engineering. Registration is required.
The Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows research presentations will resume in the Carver-Turner Room at 1:45 p.m. Kummer Day concludes with the kickoff of a Startup Challenge at 3:30 p.m. in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center.
