Retirement reception planned for Rogers

Join friends and colleagues in celebrating the retirement of Dr. J. David Rogers, professor and Hasselmann Chair in Geological Engineering. Drop by to wish him well and enjoy refreshments 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the commons area of McNutt Hall.
Rogers joined S&T’s faculty in 2001 as the only endowed chair in geological engineering in the nation. For decades, he has been a go-to source for media inquiries and documentary films focused on geohazards, such as landslides, floods and earthquakes. He has been honored with several awards, including recently receiving the Civil Engineering History and Heritage Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
