Stephanie Lewis

Stephanie Lewis is a valued member of the College of Engineering and Computing office. She has been in her position for nine months.

What do you most enjoy about working at Missouri S&T?
The people. I’m lucky to work with a great group of people who make coming to work fun and are always ready to help or answer questions.

What is your proudest accomplishment while working here?
Feeling like I have a sense of belonging. I haven’t been here long, but I feel very comfortable in my role and at S&T, even if I’m still learning daily.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a new CEC staff member?
Do not stress about knowing everything right away. There are so many things to learn, and I constantly come across something new. Never be afraid to reach out to find the answer or connect with someone in a similar role to share knowledge.

What advice would you have for a struggling student?
Find a faculty or staff member that you relate to and reach out to them. The faculty and staff at S&T care about the students and their success and genuinely want to help. Even if they are unable to personally help, they can find the right person to assist you.

What is something people may be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a crazy plant lady. I think I have 60-plus plants in my house, and I’m working on adding to the office as well. I even have a tattoo of one of my snake plants.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation. The ability to be anywhere around the world instantly would be amazing. Distance between friends and family would never be an issue.
