September is National Recovery Month! The goal of National Recovery Month is to raise awareness that hope and healing from mental health and substance use problems are real and possible. The student well-being department has “Recovery is Possible” t-shirts available for those on campus who complete the Collegiate Recovery Ally Training located at https://www.mopiptraining.org/macro.html.

Partners in Prevention designed this training to help faculty, staff, and students support individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. The training covers (1) substance use disorders and recovery, (2) myths and stigmas about substance use disorders, (3) using person-first, recovery-friendly language, and (4) how to support someone seeking or already in recovery. The training takes about 30 minutes to complete and is intended to be completed in one session.

If you complete the Collegiate Recovery Ally Training, Student Well-Being will provide you with a “Recovery is Possible” t-shirt until supplies run out. Please email Stephanie Murray-Miller, Health Educator in Student Well-Being, at smurray-miller@mst.edu with your certificate of completion from the training and your t-shirt size. You will then be able to pick up your t-shirt in Norwood 201.
