Dr. Greg Edwards, a senior strategic communications consultant for Missouri S&T, was recently elected to a second term as chair of the Meramec Community Enhancement Corp.’s (MCEC) board of directors.
MCEC is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation that works in partnership with Meramec Regional Planning Commission to provide services that increase social, economic, educational, health-related and recreational opportunities to the residents of the region.
MCEC often works with grants related to mental health and substance use disorder education. Other initiatives over the years have included connecting low-income families to the Affordable Connectivity Program for internet subsidies, housing improvements, and helping to support and expand the Naturally Meramec Consortium to benefit local agriculture, tourism and culinary businesses.
Edwards also serves on the board of directors for the James Memorial Public Library and is a member of the St. James Board of Adjustment. He is a former member of the St. James City Council and a past master of St. James Masonic Lodge.
He holds an Ed.D. in instructional leadership from Lindenwood University, a master’s degree in teaching from Missouri Baptist University, and both a master’s degree in administrative studies and applied communication and a bachelor’s degree in socio-political communication from Missouri State University.
