A new scholarship at Missouri S&T has been established in memory of Canon Lane Newton, the son of Ashley Newton, business operations associate for the College of Engineering and Computing, and his late father, David Newton. Canon was a junior at St. James High School who passed this spring in an auto accident. He planned to attend S&T after graduating high school. The Canon Lane Newton Memorial Scholarship will be for St. James High School graduates who enroll in Missouri S&T.

S&T community members who wish to donate to the scholarship fund may donate at give.mst.edu following these instructions:

• Enter the donor information and amount
• Select the button under “Designations”
• Scroll to the bottom and select “Other”
• In the box below the Designation button, type: “Canon Lane Newton Memorial Scholarship”
• Follow the prompts to completion.

Donors may also send a check payable to Missouri S&T with “Canon Lane Newton Memorial Scholarship” in the memo line to:
