Registrar reminds students of FERPA law

Each year, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the registrar is obligated to inform students about the federal law that imposes limitations on the disclosure of educational records without explicit authorization from the student. The registrar is also required to provide a comprehensive list of the items considered “directory information” that may be released. These lists containing “directory information” are only shared with external organizations when compelled by the Missouri Sunshine Law.
