Join the Kummer Center for STEM Education at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at the Carney Puck and Plaza as we celebrate the arrival of its STEM Mobile with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce.
The STEM Mobile will transport equipment to schools and events across the state that are hosting STEM-focused events. For the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the STEM Mobile will deliver a planetarium that makes it possible for students participating in the “May the 4th Be With You” event at S&T to explore constellations without leaving the ground. The STEM Mobile will also deliver equipment like a virtual reality kit and VEX Robotics, a system that introduces kids to robotics. It will also deliver supplies necessary for activities organized by S&T departments.
The STEM Mobile was paid for by funds from the transformative $300 million donation from June and Fred Kummer in 2020.
