Anna Vroman

Anna Vroman is an office support assistant for mining and explosives engineering at Missouri S&T and has been in her position for less than one year.

What do you most enjoy about working at Missouri S&T?
What I enjoy most is the community of people I get to work with, the students, the faculty and the staff. I feel like I have made so many new friends just in the short time I have been here.

What is your proudest accomplishment while working at S&T?
I recently helped the Mines and Metallurgy Academy put on their spring awards banquet here at McNutt Hall, and it was very rewarding getting to see all your hard work come to life and turn out successful. I was very proud of that.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a new CEC staff member?
If you need help, reach out. Everyone is here to support you. They have all been where you are and want to see you succeed. Don’t be afraid to ask if you need something.

What advice would you have for a struggling student in your department?
Reach out to your professor or someone you trust. They really do want you to succeed, and they know it’s not easy. Confide in your instructor or even a staff member, and they will work to help you because they really do care.

What is something people may be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a huge Elvis Presley fan. I grew up listening to oldies music and fell in love with him as a small child. I collect Elvis everything; he’s my all-time favorite. I have all his movies and even a copy of his will. This year, for my birthday, I plan to travel to Memphis, Tennessee and visit Graceland.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have any superpower, it would be the power to time travel. I would go back in time and change things before they happen or go to the future and see things before they happen.
