Dr. Hady Salloum, director of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Center of Excellence for Maritime Security and the Sensor Technology and Applied Research (STAR) Center at Stevens Institute of Technology, will give a presentation discussing the Maritime Security Center. The presentation will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, in Room 121 Butler Carlton Hall.
The center has been conducting research and education projects in maritime domain awareness and maritime resilience for eight years. Salloum will discuss selected projects and challenges encountered as well as a few project ideas under consideration by DHS and other agencies responsible for maritime security to enhance their capabilities.
Salloum is also a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. He was appointed to the National Maritime Security Advisory Committee and is a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors and a senior member of IEEE.
