Missouri S&T’s Center for Creativity and Innovation will host two speakers Thursday, April 6, following the university’s second annual “trashion” show at noon in the Havener Center atrium. All events are free and open to the public.
The April 6 talks will include:
- “The Revolution is Dapper,” presented by Mindy Dawn Friedman, an advocate for nonbinary fashion, at 2 p.m. in the Carver Room of the Havener Center. Friedman will discuss the power of fashion as a driver of innovation and creativity. This talk is co-sponsored by S&T’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program. A reception will follow the lecture.
- “Edge and Perfume,” presented by Megan Volpert, an author, academic and cultural critic, at 4 p.m. in the Turner Room of the Havener Center. Volpert will discuss her book Perfume and the role of creativity in the fragrance industry. Perfume was published in 2022 by Bloomsbury as part of its Object Lessons series about the hidden lives of ordinary things.
