S&T creative writing students collaborated with a group of University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) students for ekphrasis, the use of detailed description of visual art as a literary device. The UMSL students shared their visual art and the S&T students responded with written works.

S&T students were led by Dr. Karen Head, professor of English and technical communication and director of S&T’s Center for Creativity and Innovation, and Dr. Agnes Vojta, teaching professor of physics. UMSL students were led by Dr. Michael Behle, associate chair and associate teaching professor of art and design. The work was first exhibited at UMSL and is now on display at the Curtis Laws Wilson Library at S&T.

A small reception will be held 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the library. Light refreshments will be served.
