The campus community is invited to a ceremony to celebrate Dr. George Ladd at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 13, on the first floor of Norwood Hall. You will learn about Ladd’s contributions and his controversial leadership to save the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (MSM).
Ladd served as director of MSM from 1897 through 1907 and is credited with turning the school around following years of declining enrollment and the fear of closure. Among his many accomplishments was the construction of Norwood Hall, where this event will be held and Dr. Ladd commemorated with a display.
Light refreshments will be served.
