Dr. Michael Dennin will present “A Random Walk through Physics Research: My journey from undergraduate researcher to Vice Provost” as the keynote luncheon speaker at the undergraduate research conference on April 13th from 12:00-1:00 in St. Pat’s B, Havener Center. Professor Dennin has been Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California Irvine (UCI) since 1997 and is now the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning and Dean, Division of Undergraduate Education. An award-winning teacher and researcher, he studies the dynamics of foams, institutional issues in education, and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He has a passion for public outreach in the area of science that includes television appearances, YouTube shows, and a book on the intersection between science and faith: Divine Science: Finding Reason at the Heart of Faith, from Franciscan Media.
There will be a reception in St. Pat’s B Ballroom, Havener Center with refreshments at 3:00pm. Following the reception, the Awards Ceremony will be held in at 4:00pm.
