Raper named associate provost

Dr. Colin Potts, provost and executive vice chancellor, has appointed Dr. Steve Raper, associate professor of engineering management and systems engineering, as associate provost for academic operations, accreditation and assessment, effective March 1. He has served in this position in an interim role last July. In his new role, Raper will continue to assist the provost’s office with accreditation processes, program reviews, the direct admissions project, and other academic affairs matters.
Raper joined S&T in 1990 as an assistant professor of engineering management and was promoted to associate professor and associate chair of undergraduate studies in 1999. He has worked on campus committees including the campus curriculum committee, the commencement committee and Faculty Senate.
