A phishing email was circulated to Missouri S&T accounts in an attempt to impersonate a Missouri S&T email on Monday, March 27. The subject line reads “Attached for mst.edu – Invoice Due Date on March 27 2023” and the email appears to be from an icloud.com email address impersonating a different username.
Do not respond or click the attachment. Attachments are used to try and bypass security protection measures. Please delete the email as this phishing attempt has been reported to IT Security.
Please note the email originated from an external source and contains a warning message in the body of the email. Always verify the sender and that it is a trusted source before opening any links or attachments.
All students, faculty and staff are reminded to exercise a healthy skepticism when receiving suspicious emails and follow the proper process to report spam and phishing attempts.
