Ph.D. graduate earns AIAA best paper award

Dr. Mario Santos was recently presented with the 2021 AIAA International Space Planes and Hypersonic Systems and Technologies Best Student Paper Award. He was recognized at the 2023 AIAA SciTech Forum and Exposition. He presented at the 2021 International AIAA Hypersonics Conference, which is held every 18 months. His paper is titled “Aerothermal Uncertainty Quantification of Deployable Entry Technologies Using Multi-Fidelity Modeling.”
Santos earned his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Missouri S&T in 2021. Dr. Serhat Hosder, professor of aerospace engineering, was his advisor and is listed as one of the co-authors for this paper as well.
