Missouri S&T has named Fred Stone associate vice chancellor for facility planning and operations. His new role will begin March 1 and he will report to Alysha O’Neil, vice chancellor for finance and operations.
In this role, Stone will lead a large division, managing directors over the areas of facilities operations and maintenance; design, construction and space management; and environmental health and safety. Stone formerly served as director of design, construction and space management.
“I’m honored and eager to further contribute to S&T’s physical environment during this transformative time,” Stone says. “I look forward to working with the great teams within the three departments and our campus community to best align our strategies for facilities with S&T’s North Star Goals.”
Stone will lead capital planning, design, and construction for the S&T campus and S&T-owned properties. He will oversee the implementation of the campus master plan to ensure deadlines and budget targets are met. Missouri S&T capital plans include more than $250 million in new construction projects over the next five years.
Stone joined S&T in 2007 as a design engineer for design and construction management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, a graduate certificate in business analytics and data science and an MBA, all from Missouri S&T.
