Dr. Javier Valentín-Sívico, assistant teaching professor of engineering management, and Dr. Casey Canfield, assistant professor of engineering management, recently published a paper in Telecommunications Policy on an evaluation of the impact of improving broadband service in small underserved rural communities. The results suggest that although economic impacts such as employment, education and health were not observed, improving service quality was associated with better quality-of-life.
