Dr. Vasit Sagan, the acting director of the Taylor Geospatial Institute (TGI), and Dr. Michael O’Toole, program director of consortium engagement, will visit Missouri S&T and deliver a seminar on the institute’s funding opportunities and collaborations. The seminar, titled “Geospatial Science: The Crystal Ball for Understanding our World,” will be held 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall or via Zoom.
Sagan will discuss how geospatial science has changed his research with examples applied to food security and agricultural monitoring. He’ll also highlight the Taylor Geospatial Institute and new initiatives that could benefit Missouri S&T faculty and students. Sagan will give an overview of the institute and its resources, discuss the ways that S&T faculty and researchers can get involved, and provide information on funding and collaborative research opportunities.
Missouri S&T is part of the Taylor Geospatial Institute and our researchers can apply for research funding from the institute in both STEM and non-STEM fields. Learn about the funding opportunities.
