Caleb Moellenhoff, a junior in chemical engineering, earned the 2022 Beth Calabotta Sustainable Education Grant for his research in developing a new modular biodiesel plant. He will receive $2,000 and the opportunity to attend this year’s Clean Fuels Sustainability Workshop. The grant is awarded by the Clean Fuels Alliance Foundation.
Moellenhoff has been doing research with the Bioenergy Systems and Technology Laboratory team since January 2022, and in April, he placed first at the Undergraduate Research Conference at S&T. He is advised by Dr. Joseph Smith, the Laufer Endowed Energy Chair Professor for chemical and biochemical engineering.
