Oerther elected treasurer of Engineers Without Borders

Dr. Daniel B. Oerther, professor of environmental health engineering, has been elected treasurer of Engineers Without Borders USA. Oerther will begin his position in January.

As treasurer, Oerther will oversee the management of all financial affairs of EWB-USA including the annual budget, annual financial report and budgeting of four country offices located in Uganda, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Ecuador.

Oerther joined EWB-USA in 2005 and he was elected to the Board of Directors in 2021. In 2022, as part of the 20th anniversary celebration, EWB-USA recognized Oerther with the Exceptional Leadership Award for his humanitarian work. He previously served as treasurer of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists as well as the Building Corporation of Sigma Theta Tau the International Honor Society of Nursing.
