Join technology transfer and economic development for a lunch-and-learn seminar series beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1. The series will consist of six short topic-specific presentations and discussions that focus on the steps needed to take your idea from discovery to commercialization.
Open to all faculty and graduate students, seminars will be held noon-1 p.m. every other Wednesday, beginning FEb. 1 in the Meramec Room of the Havener Center. This seminar series will provide important background information for those interested in competing in the I-Corps program.
Topics include:
Feb. 1 – Intellectual property essentials: disclosure through patent protection.
Feb. 8 – Commercialization basics: value creation through commercialization team.
Feb. 22 – Uncovering the real marketing problem: interviewing for insight, not for sales.
March 8 – Licensing essentials.
March 22 – Startup basics: team to the business’ legal structure
April 5 – Funding your venture: Small Business Innovation Research to angel investors to venture capital.
