Student receives NSF travel grant for manufacturing symposium

Saeid Alipour, a Ph.D. student in materials science and engineering at S&T, earned a National Science Foundation travel grant to participate in the Symposium of Additive Manufacturing Modeling, Simulation, and Machine Learning at the 2022 Materials Science and Technology technical meeting and exhibition. The event was held in Pittsburgh Oct. 9-13.

Alipour was one of 12 students selected to receive the grant. Hepresented his research, titled “Additively Manufactured Multi-metallic Design for Ti-6Al-4V and Inconel 718 Joining by Scheil-Gulliver Ternary Projection Diagrams.”
