Dr. Vadym Mochalin, an associate professor of chemistry and materials science and engineering, and researchers from the United States and China published an article, titled “Understanding the effect of sodium polyphosphate on improving the chemical stability of Ti3C2Tz MXene in water,” in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A.
The research presented in the article studies the effect of polyphosphates on stability of MXenes, 2D transition metal carbides/carbonitrides/nitrides, in aqueous colloidal solutions. This research could affect synthesis, storage and development of applications for this quickly growing family of 2D materials, as well as chemistry of 2D materials in general.
