Celebrated each year on the third Wednesday in October, Financial Aid Day is a special day to celebrate and recognize the contribution of all financial aid professionals who help students make their college dreams a reality.

At S&T, most students rely on financial assistance to attend. In fact, 90% of first-year students, 76% of all undergraduates and 14% of all graduate students applied for financial aid this year. With the economic impact of the pandemic and inflation affecting so many families economically over the last two years, financial aid staff and counselors have worked tirelessly to help students with their changing financial circumstances.

Everyone who works with students can help by sharing these important points:

• It is time to apply for federal and state financial aid for the 2023-24 academic year. Students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov by Wednesday, Feb. 1.
• Students can log into scholarships.mst.edu and answer some questions to be matched to scholarships for the 2023-24 academic year.

Thank you for your help in spreading these important announcements and thank you to the financial aid team for continued support of our students.
