University Police, in partnership with the South Central Regional Professional Development Center and the U.S. Secret Service – St. Louis Field Office, will host the U.S. Secret Service – National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) for a presentation on research, analysis and key findings of averted and targeted school violence.

This presentation will highlight past incidents, relevant findings and recommendations from NTAC’s latest research on targeted school violence and averted school attacks in the United States. It will also focus on how communities can use a multidisciplinary approach to identify, assess and intervene with students exhibiting concerning or threatening behaviors as early as possible. This is not active shooter response training.

The session will be 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in the Leach Theater. The session is free to attend and seating is limited.
