Kimball named Finley Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Dr. Jonathan Kimball, professor of electrical and computer engineering (ECE) at Missouri S&T, has been named the Fred W. Finley Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Kimball, who stepped into the role of ECE chair in August, joined the S&T faculty in 2008 and has served as director of the Center for Research in Energy and Environment since 2019. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).

Kimball earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Kimball worked in private industry for several years before joining S&T.
