Do you have an interest in medical research? Dr. Kamal Khayat, interim vice chancellor for research and innovation, announces the availability of two $1,000 awards supported by the John W. Claypool Fund for Medical Research. Competition for the awards is open to all undergraduate and graduate students performing medical research activities during the Spring 2022 semester.

To apply, submit a two-page essay describing the proposed research and include the name of a faculty advisor to oversee the project. The faculty advisor should provide a brief recommendation letter. To apply, students should email their essay and recommendation letter with the subject ‘John W. Claypool Fund for Medical Research’ to research@mst.edu by Monday, Oct. 17.

A final report of the research work (at least five pages) is due to the office of the vice chancellor for research and innovation by Friday, April 28. Award funds will be distributed after the report has been accepted and before the end of the spring semester.
