Known as Opening Week Orientation or “O Week,” approximately 1,200 new S&T students are learning about college life, familiarizing themselves with campus and making friends before classes start Monday, Aug. 22.
The week’s theme – a nod to gaming – is “Let’s Level Up Together” and emphasizes teamwork and resources for students. Check out a general O Week schedule.
Throughout this week, new students are welcomed to campus and:
- Complete an academic workshop
- Learn about campus and college life
- Attend entertainment and social events
- Participate in Project X, a weeklong team experiential learning project, with races from 8:15 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20.
The events culminate Saturday evening with a Project X awards ceremony announcing the winning teams at 8 p.m. on the Havener Center lawn.
