Campus power outage planned Sept. 3

As part of S&T’s project to demolish the former power plant, a campus-wide power outage is scheduled starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3. The outage will last approximately 8-10 hours. To ensure the safety of everyone, no one should enter the affected buildings on Sept. 3 unless approval has been received by facilities operations. A campus-wide notification will be sent when power has been restored.

The following buildings will not have power during the outage:

  • Bertelsmeyer Hall
  • Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall
  • Castleman Hall
  • Centennial Hall
  • Chancellor’s Residence
  • Computer Science Building
  • Curtis Laws Wilson Library
  • Emerson Hall
  • Engineering Management Building
  • Engineering Research Laboratory
  • Fulton Hall
  • Harris Hall
  • Havener Center
  • Humanities and Social Sciences Building
  • Interdisciplinary Engineering Building
  • McNutt Hall
  • Missouri S&T Reactor
  • Norwood Hall
  • Parker Hall
  • Physics Building
  • Rolla Building
  • Schrenk Hall
  • Straumanis-James Hall
  • Toomey Hall

Emergency and backup power systems for buildings equipped with emergency generators will be operational during the outage. If there is inclement weather, the outage will happen Sunday, Sept. 4. In the case of inclement weather on Sept. 4, the outage will be rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10.
