Would you like to have one or two work study students help in your department next year? Missouri S&T student financial assistance seeks departments to participate in the 2022-23 Federal Work Study and Institutional Work Study Programs. Submit an online request by Monday, July 25. You may participate in both work study programs.
Work study students may be helpful if you answer “yes” to one of the following questions:
• Do you have a lengthy data entry list that you keep putting off?
• Do you need assistance with basic office tasks frequently?
Submitting a request does not guarantee you will be assigned a work study student, as students choose where they would like to work. Feel free to request specific students on the form. This is not a guarantee that you will be assigned that individual, as the student must be eligible for the program and be awarded. If a student was not awarded work study for next year, you may have them email Robert Berkelman at robertb@mst.edu to be added to a wait list.
In addition to the Federal Work Study Program, departments can also participate in the IWP program for incoming at-risk students who also have a high financial need. The department supervisor will serve as a mentor to the student and guide him or her toward completing their first year in college. Students will have required tasks to complete throughout the year that are designed to help them navigate their first year at S&T. The program is designed to improve retention and success of participants with support and encouragement by departments and supervisors.
If you are interested in either program, please complete the online requisition form by Monday, July 25. Departments can participate in both work study programs – but please submit separate online forms and indicate which position you would like for IWP.
