Raper named interim associate provost for academic operations, accreditation and assessment

Dr. Steve Raper, associate chair of undergraduate studies and associate professor in engineering management and systems engineering, has accepted the role of interim associate provost for academic operations, accreditation and assessment.

In this role, Raper will work with the accreditation processes across campus. Other responsibilities include serving as liaison to undergraduate and graduate curricula, working on direct admission advising, mentoring and student belonging project, overseeing the academic program reviews and recommending improvements to processes, serving as a liaison for degree programs and revisions, and streamlining operations and communication. He will restructure assessment and the general education work groups as well as special projects assigned by the provost.

Raper joined S&T in 1990 as an assistant professor in engineering management and was promoted to associate professor and associate chair of undergraduate studies in 1999. He has worked on campus committees including the campus curriculum committee, the commencement committee and Faculty Senate.
