Dr. Fatih Dogan, professor of materials science and engineering, has been named the interim director of the Center for Research in Energy and Environment (CREE). His appointment began July 1.
“I look forward to working with Dr. Fatih Dogan and the CREE-affiliated faculty, students, and staff to continue to grow Energy and Environmental engineering at S&T,” says Dr. Kamal Khayat, interim vice chancellor for research and innovation. “I also want to express my deep appreciation to Dr. Jonathan Kimball, whose able leadership as CREE director served our university since 2019.”
“I am honored and humbled to accept the director position for the Center for Research in Energy and Environment,” Dogan says. “CREE serves as the focal point of research, development and deployment related to energy and environmental technologies. I will promote transformative and multidisciplinary R&D activities and facilitate opportunities for collaboration of academic researchers with stakeholders in the energy and environment sector.”
Prior to joining S&T in 2002, Dogan was a research faculty member in the materials science and engineering department at University of Washington and a postdoctoral researcher in the chemical engineering department and the Princeton Materials Institute at Princeton University.
