Missouri S&T Chief Information Officer Danny Tang is resigning from his position effective Aug. 19, 2022, to become associate vice president of technology and chief information officer of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.
“This was a difficult decision for me, as I have enjoyed my time at S&T and the opportunity to help strengthen our IT services for our students, faculty and staff,” Tang says. “However, this move is the right decision for my family and me at this time. I will greatly miss all the wonderful people of the S&T community.”
“Danny has done terrific work to move our IT operations forward during his time as our CIO,” says Missouri S&T Chancellor Mo Dehghani. “We are sorry to see him go, but we wish Danny all the best in this new endeavor.”
Tang joined Missouri S&T in July 2021 from the University of Iowa, where he served as director of research services.
Perry Koob, currently a security analyst-expert in IT’s security unit, has been appointed acting CIO effective Aug. 1, 2022. A search for a permanent CIO will begin later this summer. The IT division will report to the vice chancellor for finance and administration while the search is underway.
