Effective Friday, July 1, Missouri S&T’s College of Arts, Sciences, and Business (CASB) will change to the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE), and the Kummer College of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development will be established. Two academic departments formerly in CASB – business and information technology and economics – will move to the Kummer College.
CASE is made up of S&T’s Air Force and Army ROTC programs, the global engineering program, and the departments of arts, languages, and philosophy; biological sciences; chemistry; English and technical communication; history and political science; mathematics and statistics; physics; psychological science; and teacher education and certification.
Economics, business and information technology, and engineering management and systems engineering will join Kummer College as founding departments, offering their existing degree programs. The Kummer College will offer new degrees and emphasis areas as well as graduate certificates in entrepreneurship and technological innovation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation in business, and other subjects. The college will house innovations such as stackable credentials, continual online and distance learning, the integration of traditional curricular and co-curricular experiences, and modular, self-paced learning.
The Kummer College and CASE websites will debut in July.
