Kimball named electrical and computer engineering chair

Dr. Jonathan Kimball, professor of electrical and computer engineering (ECE), has accepted the role of ECE chair. The appointment is effective Aug. 1.
Kimball received a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He received a master’s degree in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Kimball worked in private industry for several years and joined the Missouri S&T faculty in 2008. He has served as director of the Center for Research in Energy and Environment since 2019. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).
