Passing of Dr. Carol Smith

The Missouri S&T community is saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Carol Ann Smith, associate professor emeritus of philosophy. Smith passed away July 30. She joined the university in 1971 and became an emerita faculty member in 2003. She continued to teach through 2012.
Smith was honored as the 2001 Woman of the Year and served as chair of the Academic Council 1983-84.
