Missouri S&T students and faculty recognized at IEEE Region 5

Several students and faculty were recognized at the 2022 Region 5 Annual Conference of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE):

  • Electrical and computer engineering students Aaron Burke and Elanor Jackson placed third in the Student Ethics Competition, where students prepare and present an analysis of a scenario in professional ethics
  • Dr. Kristen Donnell, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, earned the Outstanding Educator Award
  • Dr. DongHyun Bill Kim, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, earned the Outstanding Young Professional Award
  • Dr. Steve E. Watkins, professor of electrical and computer engineering, earned the John Meredith R5 Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021.

The conference was held in Houston in April. Region 5 includes the states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and parts of the surrounding states.
