Several students and faculty were recognized at the 2022 Region 5 Annual Conference of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE):
Electrical and computer engineering students Aaron Burke and Elanor Jackson placed third in the Student Ethics Competition, where students prepare and present an analysis of a scenario in professional ethics
Dr. Kristen Donnell, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, earned the Outstanding Educator Award
Dr. DongHyun Bill Kim, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, earned the Outstanding Young Professional Award
Dr. Steve E. Watkins, professor of electrical and computer engineering, earned the John Meredith R5 Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021.
The conference was held in Houston in April. Region 5 includes the states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and parts of the surrounding states.
