Dr. Marek Locmelis, assistant professor of geology and geophysics, has been named Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists. The Society of Economic Geologists was established in 1920 and is the largest organization of individual members with interests in the field of economic geology. The society’s membership includes representatives from industry, academia, and government institutions. Today, the Society consists of more than 7,000 members residing in over 90 countries throughout the world.
