Ph.D. students are semifinalists for SMART Scholarship awards

Alex Foutch and Brandon Bloss, master’s degree students in nuclear engineering, and Marissa Spencer, a Ph.D. student in geology and geophysics, are semifinalists for Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship awards sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
SMART scholarships provide full tuition, annual stipends, and book and health allowances to students pursuing STEM degrees. Winners also receive internships with the DoD and guaranteed employment with the DoD upon graduation. The 2022 scholarship awards will be announced in April.
