Every successful professional walks through the door of opportunity. Do you close the door or help someone through? Eric Potts, associate account director at Freese and Nichols Inc., will speak about diversity, equity and inclusion at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in Room 124 of Butler-Carlton Hall and on Zoom.
“Diversity, Equity and inclusion should not be looked at as just another initiative,” says Potts. “It should be a part of your organization’s DNA.”
Potts will discuss approaches that could build a consensus for equal-opportunity outcomes. He brings 43 years of leadership and management experience to the conversation. Prior to joining Freese and Nichols Inc., Potts served as deputy director of corporate strategy and performance, planning, design and construction for the Houston Airport System. He also served as interim director of the system, which includes George Bush International, William P. Hobby and Ellington Field airports in Houston.
Potts is a retired U.S. Army colonel. He served as executive director for civil works, commanded the 23rd Engineer Battalion in Freidberg, Germany, and was the 46th commander and district engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District in Texas.
Missouri S&T’s College of Engineering and Computing and the civil, architectural and environmental engineering department are co-hosting the event.
