The office of the vice chancellor for research and innovation invites the campus to a seminar on export controls and small business entrepreneurship at 3 p.m. Friday, March 25, in Room 121 Computer Science Building.
A Zoom option will also be available. Use meeting ID 91801059406 and passcode 629618.
The seminar will feature two speakers:
- Cathie Eikermann, senior compliance manager for sponsored programs, will discuss export controls in academia – what it is and how it applies to research at S&T.
- Taisia Gordon, business development specialist for technology transfer and economic development, will discuss entrepreneurial academics. For some researchers, starting a business can be an effective way to bring their discovery, innovation or knowledge to the market. The Missouri Small Business Development Center at Missouri S&T can help with the opportunities and challenges associated with start-ups; the center provides no-cost, confidential, business counseling services to entrepreneurs.
A reception will follow.
