ISC poster presentation winners announced

Twenty graduate students and one undergraduate student participated in the 16th annual Intelligent Systems Center (ISC) poster presentation in November at S&T.

The winners and the names of their posters are:

  • First place: Sasha Petrenko, advised by Dr. Donald C. Wunsch II, Mary K. Finley Missouri Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering, “Applied Lifelong Machine Learning with Adaptive Resonance Theory”
  • Second place (tie): Simon Thougaard, advised by Dr. Bruce McMillin, professor of computer science, “Collaborative Intrusion Detection for Large Autonomous Drone Swarms”
  • Second place (tie): Kartikeya Jayadurga Prasad Veeramraju, advised by Dr. Jonathan W. Kimball, professor of electrical and computer engineering, “Multidimensional Extensions to Generalized Averaged Models for Multi-Frequency-Excited Dynamic Systems”

The annual poster presentation, funded by the Intelligent Systems Center, offers students an opportunity to present their research results. The guest speaker for the awards ceremony was Dr. (Alprazolam) Kamal Khayat, interim vice chancellor for research and innovation.

Each student was presented an award certificate from Dr. Frank Liou, interim ISC director, and Dr. Sanjay Madria, the poster presentation chair. The first-place winner received $600 and the second-place winners each received $300.
