In the news: 5G and airlines, disaster recovery

  • Dr. Kurt Kosbar, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, shared his expertise with KMOV4 for a news story about the effects of 5G radio signals on airline navigation systems. The story, “5G fears, what you need to know,” aired Jan. 19.
  • In a Denver Post article about recovery from a recent fire in Colorado, Dr. Suzanna Long discussed the Joplin tornado as an example of how a community can rebuild after a tragedy. Reporter John Aguilar wrote the article, titled “Lessons from Lyons: Will Marshall fire victims rebuild or move on?” which was published on Jan. 18. Long is chair and professor of engineering management and systems engineering.
